The Republic of San Marino is situated 200 kilometres far from Bologna and 20 kilometres far from Rimini.
It is not necessary to go through customs formalities to enter the Republic. Just take your identity card.

By car:
Take A14 Motorway, RIMINI SUD Exit, and follow signs to the Republic of San Marino. Go straight on up to the state boundaries.
Drive along the main road in the direction of the old town. After 4 kilometres, you will reach Castello di Borgo Maggiore. Follow signs to Strada Sottomontana and turn left at the roundabout, that is embellished by a beautiful contemporary sculpture.
Once taken Strada Sottomontana, turn right after the service area and go straight on for 400 metres. Silvana Hotel and "Il Piccolo" Restaurant are situated on the right

By train:
Get off at Rimini Station. The bus stop gathering daily buses (Bonelli and Benedettini lines) that connect Rimini with San Marino’s old town is situated on the left.
Tickets can be bought on board the bus. The last bus departs at 18:00 in winter and at 19:00 in summer. Silvana Hotel, Murata bus stop and the end of the line to the old town are all situated 45 minutes far from Rimini.
