Not to be missed is the targeted itinerary dedicated to the lovers of music, which revolves around the life of the violin-maker Antonio Stradivari, who was born here and lived in Cremona from 1644 up to 1737. The 16th-century Palazzo Affaitati, the current seat of the Civic Museums and the fine art collection of the Picture Gallery, also houses the Stradivari Museum, which displays documents, drawings, models and the reconstruction of Stradivarius's workshop. The so-called Violin Room in Palazzo del Comune houses the Stradivari family collection of violins, which were realized between ‘500 and ‘700, while Palazzo Raimondi hosts the School of Music Philology and Palaeography and the International School of Violin Making.
