Bordered by the homonymous lake, the small town of Alleghe is situated few kilometres far from Marmolada and Mount Civetta, the latter rising east just in the heart of Agordina Valley. The steep north-eastern slope of Mount Civetta, which overlooks the city centre, attracts tourists with its 1000 metres drop and is an appreciated destination for skilled climbers flocking to the so-called “parete delle pareti” (rock face of the rock faces). Some of the slopes of the northern Mount Civetta, such as Philip-Flamm, Solleder-Lettembauer or 5 di Valmadrera, are very difficult and constitute a big challenge even for expert climbers.
