A super-modern complex in Piedmont, Sestriere was born in the 30s thanks to the efforts of the Agnelli family and is situated 2.000 metres above sea level next to the small village of Champlas du Col. With the inauguration of the so-called “Via Lattea” (Milky Way), this resort became the largest ski resort in Europe and the privileged holiday destination for the lovers of Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding and further winter sports.

The nearby resort of Champlas du Col hosts the beautiful church of St. Antonio Abate, which was realized in the XII century but subsequently renovated during the last century. It hosts an eighteenth-century pulpit and a seventeenth-century altar-piece. Sestriere's hill hosts the Church of St. Edoardo, which was commissioned in the 30s by  Giovanni Agnelli to celebrate his son Edoardo and realized by architect Vittorio Bonadè-Bottino. Bonadè-Bottino also realized the so-called Towers, the first two hotels in Sestriere, important examples of modern architecture.
