Sala Baganza, a small municipality situated in the province of Parma, lies amidst the green meadows and lush vegetation of the fertile Val Baganza. Its name derives from the stream Baganza, which crosses Sala and further small centres situated in the province of Parma before flowing into the stream Parma, a short distance from the provincial capital's old town. Although this small centre is mainly known as an engineering and agricultural and food centre, its old town also cherishes interesting monuments which bear witness to the important role it played in past ages.
