Treviolo is a small municipality situated 6 kilometres west of Bergamo whose city centre overlooks the left bank of the river  Brembo. Apart from the capital, the municipal territory includes three further hamlets, that is to say Albegno, Curnasco and Roncola.

The four villages which form Treviolo's municipality are scattered with plenty of charming tourist itineraries; furthermore, the proximity with Bergamo attracts large numbers of travellers who can stay at comfortable budget hotels and intimate guesthouses. The holiday farms and bed and breakfasts of the old town complement the tourist offer of this picturesque village.

The city's most representative landmark is the Castle of Albegno, a XI-century fortress whose tower, entrance gate and city walls still retain their original aspect. The same municipality hosts an elegant XVII-century stately home, Villa Frizzoni-Micheletti-Casarotto, and the parish church of St. John the Baptist, which has recently been erected but is embellished by precious works of art which date back to the XVI and the XVII century.
Treviolo's old town is dominated by the church of St. Giorgio martire, a seventeenth-century bulding which cherishes an artistic heritage of great value.
Curnasco is home to the so-called Colombo Farmhouse, a sixteenth-century rural building whose interior hosts an ancient  mill. Both Roncola and the surrounding villages are punctuated with elegant stately homes which were buily between the XVI and the XVIII century. Among these, not to be missed is Villa Zanchi in Treviolo, which is surrounded by a wide public garden occupied by elegant tree-lined avenues, children's playgrounds, targeted sports facilities and an artificial lake.
