Transacqua, a small municipality situated in the province of Trento, rises at an altitude of 750 metres above sea level just in the heart of Primiero Valley. Its name derives from the position of its city centre, which is idyllically set on the left banks of the streams Cismon and Canali. Transacqua became part of the Italian territory at the end of World War I, after over five centuries of Austrian rule.
