Tramonti, a small municipality of the province of Salerno, rises on the top of Mounts Lattari, and boasts breathtaking views over the whole Amalfi Coast. It is situated at the beginning of the valley of the stream Reginna, which is also home to the popular seaside resorts of Minori and Maiori. Surrounded by impressive peaks and high mountains, it is subdivided into thirteen hamlets featuring different characteristics and peculiarities.

Tramonti's major monuments are the Church of Ascensione and the Ancient Conservatory (monastery), the latter being erected in 1662 in the lovely hamlet of Pucara. One of the most beautiful hills of the surrounding territory is dominated by the fascinating remains of the Castle of Santa Maria La Nova, which was built in 1457 and is still open to the general public.
The lush valley that develops from Maiori to Tramonti and is crossed by the stream Reginna is scattered with plenty of lovely churches: St. Erasmo in Pucera, which was built at the beginning of the fifteenth century, Madonna del Rosario and St. Maria di Tramonti, the latter being erected on the top of a 517-metre-high charming hill.
Tramonti is especially famous for its traditions, festivals and pizza, which became famous all over Italy during the postwar period, when many inhabitants moved to the north and opened restaurants there. The so-called Tramontina pizza stands out for its soft, light and fluffy texture.
