Villa Sopranzi, a sumptuous historical building that is also known as Stroppa Castle, rises on the top of a gentle local hill. It still retains splendid ornaments and decorations, what bears witness to the city's past splendour. The castle boasts breathtaking views over the outer walls and remains of the imposing Pusterla –Melzi Castle. It is flanked by the beautiful Church of St. Maria. Provided with a single nave, it cherishes the prestigious Ark by Tommaso Pusterla and a white marble funerary monument that was then turned into an altar piece.
The Sanctuary of Madonna delle Vigne, an historical building featuring a single nave, is embellished by a portico and a high bell tower, the latter still retaining its original structure. Its interior is embellished by precious eighteenth-century decorations, and it is dominated by a beautiful barrel vault. A short distance from the Sanctuary is the Church of St. Pietro and Paolo, that boasts a beautiful brick facade, a splendid rose windown flanked by two double lancet windows, a huge central portal and a sumptuous pointed arch made of polychrome stone. The church, that has a Latin cross plan, gathers a wide transept and cherishes the oldest organ of the city. Its huge complex is flanked by a high bell tower.
