Tonadico is the oldest village of Primiero Valley, which is situated just in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. The historic-artistic beauties of its old town, ancient churches and palaces and the naturalistic heritage which crowns Tonadico's village, which is almost fully included in the protected territories of Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Natural Park, make Tonadico an appreciated holiday destination all year round.

Those spending their holidays in Tonadico will have the opportunity to stay at comfortable hotels situated in the city centre, a short distance from the major monuments and attractions, and at charming guesthouses overlooking the valleys of Canali and Venegia, which are wholly carpeted with thick woods, green meadows and wide pastures. Tonadico's municipal territory also includes part of Pale di San Martino Plateau and some high peaks punctuated with intimate shelters .

Tonadico's old town gathers outstanding monuments and buildings. The hill which dominates the city centre is topped by the small church of St. Vittore, which was built in the XI century and is embellished by precious frescos dating back to different ages. Palazzo Scopoli, which dates back to the same period, derives its name from the family who inherited it in the fifteenth century, when several rooms and the private chapel were frescoed. Worthy of note is Castel Pietra, an impressive XII-century fortress overlooking Canali Valley. The former residence of the captain of Feltre's bishop, it was turned into a private residence by the Welsperg family, important feudal lords from Austria, and was subsequently abandoned at the end of the seventeenth century after it had been destroyed by a big fire. The lovers of climbing will have the possibility to enjoy exciting adventures on the top of the impressive peak dominated by the ruins of Castel Pietra.
The cycle path of Primiero Valley crosses the whole village, while the lovers of trekking and mountain bike will be spoilt for choice: a remarkably wide array of rough paths and itineraries cross the enchanting territories of Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Natural Park.
