Visconteo Castle is a huge complex including three impressive fortresses provided with independent entrance. The oldest one rises in the north-western corner of the castle, while the eastern side hosts the only part that is still open to the general public, the so-called Castello d’Estate (Summer Castle).
Another building worthy of mention is the Church of St. Bernardino, whose interior cherishes precious artworks of great value, such as the Madonna and Child and St. Bernardino that was realized by the illustrious Fiammenghino.
Not to be missed are the precious artworks cherished by the Church of St. Stefano, such as the famous Triptych by Marco d’Oggiono and the Pietà with St. Sebastiano and Giobbe and Pentecoste that are said to have been realized by Bramantino.
The lovely chapels of the sumptuous Sanctuary of St. Maria della Ghianda host the Sorrowful Mysteries and large woode statues.
