Siculiana, a small municipality of the province of Agrigento, is described as a crib on a hill in the famous book “Siculiana Racconta” by Paolo Fiorentino. Next to the church is the lovely Chapel of Baptistry, that contains a sumptuously decorated font. Other sacred monuments worthy of mention are the Church dedicated to St Leonardo Abate and its inner Chapel of St. Crocifisso.
Time in Siculiana was once marked by the Clock Tower. Today, it is not working anymore and is the seat of the town council.
The city centre is dominated by the imposing Chiaramontano Castle, that has recently been totally remodelled and enlarged and is now open to the general public. Other buildings worthy of note are Palazzo Agnello, the Chapel of Calvario and Palazzo Alfani.
