The small municipality of Rota d’Imagna, which is situated in the province of Bergamo, is the most important tourist centre of the glorious Imagna Valley. It is crossed by plenty of exciting trekking and cycling itineraries, which attract the lovers of nature and open-air activities for several months a year.

Most hotels are situated just in the heart of the old town, while comfortable guesthouses offer cycle tourists special equipments and precious suggestions to reach the most beautiful footpaths and natural settings. Not to be missed are charming holiday farms, which are idyllically set amongst lush landscapes and offer guests the possibility to take advantage of comfortable spaces while tasting traditional specialities from Lombardy.

Apart from charming footpaths and proper equipments to perform open-air activities, Rota d’Imagna also gathers outstanding monuments and works of art, which attract large numbers of cultural tourists. Worthy of mention are the parish church of Rota Dentro and that of Rota Fuori, two charming resorts which were once separated but are now part of the same municipality. The first one is dedicated to St. Gottardo and dates back to 1496: its interior cherishes precious artworks of great value. The second one, which is named after St. Siro, is embellished by inestimable masterpieces. The original structure dates back to 1470, but it was fully restored in the eighteenth century.
Rota d’Imagna also hosts some elegant stately homes dating back to the XVII century, such as Ca’Piatone and Villa Mazzucotelli. The nearby village of Chignolo, which still retains the aspect of a picturesque rural village, is easily accessible through a charming footpath which crosses the so-called Ponte del Follo, a peculiar bridge made up of a single stone arch.
