Roncadelle is a small municipality situated 6 kilometres west of Brescia. Its territory is part of the piedmont area of the Po Valley and is crossed by the river Mella and the stream Gandovere.

Roncadelle's city centre is a fascinating chequerboard of impressive historical buildings, outstanding monuments and charming rural houses. Most monuments and historical buildings date back to the XV century and the two following centuries; over the course of that period, the Porcellaga Family commissioned the building of impressive palaces and important public works. The Castle of Porcellaga, the current Palazzo Guaineri, is situated just in the heart of the city centre, and is surrounded by large green areas and lush public parks. This imposing building, which was commissioned by the local lords, was realized over the remains of a pre-existing structure. Only few remains of the original fortified building survive, since the castle was turned into an elegant residence by the subsequent owners, who enlarged it over the course of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The inner halls were sumptuously frescoed by acclaimed artists who worked here between the XVI and the XVIII century.
Even the parish church and some of the main artworks it cherishes date back to the same period and were commissioned by the Porcellaga Family. Among the most important artworks are a precious fresco by Romanino and an impressive painting which is situated over one of the 6 marble altars of the church.
A short distance from the old town are several historical villas and manor houses, such as Villa Savoldo, which was erected in the early seventeenth century, Cascina Fedrisa, which was richly frescoed in the course of the XVII century, and Cascina S. Giulina, which is flanked by a small church and an ancient mill.
