Rocca Pia is a small municipality of the province of l’Aquila. Situated halfway between Roccaraso and Sulmona, it develops just in the heart of one of Abruzzo's most beautiful areas, and is part of Sangro Comunità Montana and Majella National Park.

Rocca Pia's old town still retains the remains of an ancient medieval castle which dominates the so-called Castelluccio, the fortified part of the town.
