This fortress dates back to 1007 and was commissioned by the noble Lantieri family, who hosted Dante as a guest in 1311. It is still possible to visit the remains of this buildingd, which was abandoned centuries ago after the attack of Carlo V in 1521. Among the city's most representative buildings, not to be missed are the parish church, whose interior cherishes precious artworks of great value, the small church of St. Pietro and Palazzo Vanzago, a thirteenth-century building which was once destroyed and then reconstructed to host a monastery.
