Parabiago is a small municipality situated 14 kilometres far from Milan's city centre, just in the heart of the so-called Altomilanese area, one of the most industrialized and densely populated districts of the whole Europe. It is also known as the “city of footwear”, since it is scattered with plenty of flourishing shoe industries. Apart from thriving industries and economic activities, Parabiago also gathers precious historic-artistic finds and enchanting environmental beauties.

Canale Villoresi, a charming waterway which crosses the whole municipal territory, is flanked by a beautiful cycle itinerary, the so-called Villoresi Path, which connects all the major centres situated in the provinces of Milan and Monza-Brianza.
One of the city's most representative buildings is the church of SS. Gervasio and Protasio, which was built in ‘600 over the remains of an ancient sacred building dedicated to Parabiago's two patron saints dating back to the V century. The city centre is dominated by the fourteenth-century church of St. Ambrogio della Vittoria, an impressive seventeenth-century Monastery and the adjoining church, which were both commissioned in 1700 by the Cistercians and constitute an architectural complex of great value which has recently been appointed National Monument.
The lovers of art won't miss the opportunity to visit the Sanctuary of Madonna di Dio il Sà, an imposing building situated just across the border with the small municipality of Nerviano which was built in the fifteenth century and is attributed to Donato Bramante.
