Paola is a fascinating city of the province of Cosenza that overlooks the Tyrrehnian Coast. It is particularly known as the native town of the patron saint of Calabria, St. Francesco di Paola. The complex is surrounded by the so-called Zona dei Prodigi (Area of Miracles), where the Saint is said to have performed lots of miracles.
The cosy hamlet of Marina di Paola is a lively seaside resort which gathers wide sandy beaches, well-groomed bathing establishments, modern equipment and a charming tourist harbour, which attracts the lovers of pleasure boats. The sea front is peppered with lively clubs, ice-cream shops and restaurants.
