Pantelleria is the most important inhabited centre of the homonymous island of the Channel of Sicily, an authentic natural oasis that is idyllically set just in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea. It is easily accessible by both ferry boat and plane.

Not to be missed is the famous Cala Arco dell’Elefante, that is dominated by an impressive trunk-shaped rock spur. Other beaches worthy of mention are Cala Gadir, Cala Levante, Cala Tramontana and the so-called Laghetto delle Ondine. The whole island is dominated by the impressive Montagna Grande, that is covered in lush woods and crossed by enchanting footpaths and trails. It boasts breathtaking views over both Sicily and the African coastline. Another spectacular attraction worthy of mention is the famous Lake Specchio di Venere, a small water basin charaterized by spectacular reflections. Sport lovers will have the opportunity to go trekking across the hinterland, perform diving, snorkeling and other watert sports and take part in pleasant boat tours around the island.
