The archaeological area extends over a total surface of 3000 square metres, and develops around the high central tower of Nuraghe Orrubiu, that is in turn surrounded by the impressive remains of ancient bulwarks and fortresses. This wide complex is flanked by the ruins of ancient Nuraghic settlements and Roman sites. Not to be missed is the picturesque village of Su Putzu, that gathers almost 100 well-preserved sheds and shacks.
Every year on the first Sunady of June, the famous St. Caterina Festival is held in Orroli. Tourists flocking here on the occasion of this celebration will have the opportunity to admire the typical traccas, that is to say the popular Sardinian carts.
