The lush wooded valleys of the surrounding area are dominated by impressive rocks and granite peaks. The old town is home to the beautiful parish church of St. Giacomo, that was built in the XV century. Its facade boasts an outstanding combination of Classical and Gothic architectural elements, while the interior is embellished by sumptuous Gothic-Catalan ogival arches.
Nughedu Santa Vittoria's major naturalistic attraction is Lake Omodeo, that once was the largest artificial basin in Europe. Not to be missed is the wonderful Assai's naturalistic oasis, that makes the ideal base for undertaking pleasant walks and excursions. Nughedu Santa Vittoria is also home to two important pre-Nuraghic archaeological sites of great value, the famous Domus de janas of S’Angrone and Arzolas De Goi.
