Bussento caves, which develop along the underground course of the river, are six hundred metres long and boast one entrance and one exit. The so-called inghiottitoio, in Caselle in Pittari, boasts a spectacular entrance, a giant 30-metre-high portal that is set just in the heart of an impressive rocky wall. The lower cave, the so-called risorgenza, is situated few kilometres far from it, and extends amidst the rocky canyons that were dug out of the river bank.
