Montespertoli's most representative landmark is the Romanesque Parish Church of St. Pietro in Mercato, that was consecrated in 1057. Its interior contains precious artworks by  Neri di Bicci, a beautiful painting by Filippino Lippi and an ancient font dating back to the end of the XI century.
Montespertoli is especially famous for its illustrious citizen Don Lorenzo Milani, who started working as a teacher here. Every year on the last May Sunday, Montespertoli  arranges the famous Chianti Wine Festival, that is one of the most important events for wine growers from all over Tuscany.
