The seventeenth-century Church of St. Francesco contains precious paintings belonging to the Florentine school, as well as a splendid picture depicting the “Crucifixion" that was attributed to Van Dyck. It is flanked by a huge Capuchin monastery, that rises on the top of the hill that separates the ancient village from the modern hamlet of Fegina.
Punta Mesco naturalistic area attracts large numbers of excursionists and the lovers of open-air activities, since it is scattered with impressive cliffs and crossed by plenty of charming footpaths and trails.
Not to be missed is the imposing Giant Statue, that was realized in 1910 by the architect Francesco Levacher and the sculptor Arrigo Minerbi. This imposing reinforced concrete statue depicting Neptune rises on the top of an impressive rock spur that dominates Villa Montale, the house where the Nobel prize winner Eugenio Montale used to spend his summer holidays.
