Monfalcone, a small municipality of the province of Gorizia, is the northernmost town of the Mediterranean basin. Over the course of the latest decades, this important industrial district has also become a renowned trading centre.

Monfalcone gathers plenty of small family-run guest houses and 3- and 4-star hotels, which are provided with large meeting rooms and modern conference facilities for business travellers. The fertile territories which surround Monfalcone are punctuated with charming farm houses, which give families with children and large groups of people the possibility to eat genuine products and tasty local staples.

Monfalcone's city centre is dominated by the impressive medieval Fortress, which has repeatedly undergone extensive restoration works. The city's most interesting events are the Carnival, which is livened up by a wonderful float parade gathering more than 3000 participants, and the famous Festival of Monfalcone's Wine, which is a funny popular trade fair which gives participants the possibility to taste both regional, Italian and international wines, and to attend amazing shows and concerts.
