Moltrasio, a small municipality which is situated in the province of Como, lies along the western shores of Lake Como and is located 8 kilometres far from the provincial capital, which is easily accessible by ferry boat. The church of St. Martino dates back to 1200 and its bell tower still retains the original Romanesque architectural patterns, but the rest of the building was subsequently remodelled during different ages. Its interior cherishes precious frescoes and a relic of great value, that is to say a fragment of the Holy Crown (which is best known as Holy Thorn), which attracts thousands of pilgrims. 
The nearby hamlet of Crotti hosts the Church of St. Agata, which is largely built of stone and decorated with small arches and ornaments. The outer walls are embellished by ancient frescoes, while the interior cherishes an outstanding Renaissance wood crucifix. The lake is dominated by the oratory of St. Rocco, a lovely stone chapel which was realized in the sixteenth century.
