An important winter resort situated in the province of Sondrio, Livigno, the northernmost city of Lombardy, is a large plateau which nestles on the slopes of the Rhaetian Alps. Situated just in the heart of Val di Livigno and crossed by the river Spöl, Livigno can be reached from Valtellina through the Pass of Foscagno and from Switzerland through the so-called Forcola di Livigno. The city centre, which is scattered with trendy sportswear shops, luxury boutiques and glamorous discos, is the traditional gathering place for both families with children and young people from Italy and abroad who decide to spend their winter holidays in Livigno.
The large Stelvio Park, which is easily accessible from the nearby Bormio, offers tourists the possibility to enjoy plenty of charming itineraries, sweeping views, thick woods, a rich fauna and enchanting mountain villages.
Not to be missed are a summer tour to the lakes of Forcola and the panoramic peak of Mount Vago and the wild footpath which leads to Val Nera Waterfall.
