Galliate's history is strictly interwoven with that of Milan. It was once ruled by the members of the powerful Sforza Family, who commissioned the building of an impressive castle there. The beautiful side chapels are embellished by outstanding representations depicting the mysteries of the rosary. The interior is embellished by precious frescoes and splendid Baroque sculptures that were realized by the famous artists Dionigi Bussola and Grazioso Rusca.
