Forlimpopoli's most illustrious citizen was the nineteenth-century man of letters and gourmet Pellegrino Artusi, who wrote a very famous book: "La Scienza in Cucina e l’Arte di Mangiar Bene". His personality is celebrated by the local Casa Artusi multipurpose centre, which is dedicated to gastronomy and also hosts a well-stocked library. Not to be missed in June is the lively festival of Artusopoli, when the city celebrates its genuine traditions and typical cuisine.
