Folignano, a small municipality of the province of Ascoli Piceno, tops a sweet hill which rises south-east of the provincial capital. Folignano is situated just in the heart of a privileged, strategic position, which contributes to attract large numbers of tourists. It stands few kilometres far from Abruzzo's regional boundaries, a very short distance from the enchanting National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga, and 35 kilometres far from the Adriatic Coast.

Not to be missed is the visit of the impressive remains of the Castle, an imposing fortress which once overlooked the whole surrounding territory. Its remains are currently dominated by a sumptuous Palace, which was realized at the beginning of the twentieth century, a high bell tower and a monumental clock, which dates back to the same period. Worthy of mention is the Renaissance House which was built in 1557, which is now the seat of the local Parish House.
Every year on the second September Sunday, Folignano stages the famous procession of St. Cipriano, the patron saint of children. On this occasion, children are blessed with the traditional small medal of St. Cipriano.
