Fiè allo Sciliar (German: Völs am Schlern) is a small municipality situated in the province of Bolzano whose territory develops at an altitude comprised between 315 and 2.564 metres above sea level. Fiè itself rises 800 metres above sea level on the slopes of Sciliar Massif, just in the heart of the Dolomitic plateau of Siusi Alps. Fiè's municipal territory is included in Sciliar Natural Park, which is dominated by two famous peaks: Punta Santner and Punta Euringer.

Fiè's long tourist tradition, which was inaugurated more than one century ago with the foundation of a targeted establishment for hay baths (an ancient curative treatment), is evidenced by the presence of numerous hotels and guesthouses belonging to different categories. Comfortable shelters, residences and accommodation facilities attract large numbers of tourists from all over Europe both in summer and in winter.

Apart from hay baths, which are still carried out according to ancient rituals and traditions, another interesting tourist highlight is the beautiful Lake Fiè, where it is possible to swim during summer and to ice-skate during winter. The nearby hamlet of Presule is dominated by Presule's Castle, an impressive Gothic building whose interior cherishes precious collections of ancient weapons, frescos and paintings of great value.
Outstanding cultural and natural beauties are complemented by genuine cooking traditions; not to be missed is “La dispensa di Fiè”, which has been celebrated every October for ten years now and still attracts large numbers of gourmets and curious visitors who come to taste mouth-watering delicacies cooked by the most acclaimed chefs of the surrounding area.
Worthy of mention is “Schlern International Music Festival", a special review dedicated to classical music which takes place every year in July.
