The Parish Church of St. Savino, the city's patron saint, is situated just in the heart of the old town, and was built in the XV century over the remains of the pre-existing Church of Castello. The building, which was heavily remodelled and restored over the course of the centuries, still retains a great painting depicting St. Savino Bishop that was realized by Alessandro Guardassoni from Bologna in 1851.
In front of the church is the fifteenth-century Palazzo Garagnani, which has been owned by the homonymous family since 1813. Its interior hosts a splendid eighteenth-century staircase and plenty of precious frescoes depicting mythological and allegorical subjects. The palace is flanked by a peculiar Tower dating back to the late ‘400, that boasts three superimposed architectural orders provided with semi-circular vaults.
Crespellano's countryside is peppered with ancient religious buildings, such as the thirtheenth-century Romanesque Oratory of St. Francesco, as well as with numerous manor houses surrounded by enchanting parks, such as the XV-century Palazzo Marescotti and its beautiful Confortino Tower.
