Situated north of Lake Iseo, just in the heart of the Park of the Bergamo Alps, Castione della Presolana rises 1.000 metres above sea level on the top of a wide and sunny plateu overlooking Tede Valley. The city centre is dominated by the profiles of the homonymous Presolana Massif and Mount Pora.

The municipal territory of Castione della Presolana gathers several winter resorts, such as the ski districts of Malga Alta di Pora and Cantoniera della Presolana, and ancient villages which still retain their original aspect. These territories host several accommodation facilities, such as small and welcoming hotels situated in the old town, modern and comfortable guesthouses which stand near the main ski slopes, intimate shelters and comfortable residences. The small villages of Dorga, Bratto, Lantana and Rusio are scattered with charming holiday farms which give guests the possibility to spend relaxing holidays just in the heart of a typical mountain resort.

Its thick network of ski-lift facilities made Cantoniera della Presolana, which nestles on the slopes of Mount Scanapà, the first ski resort of the large circuit which now attracts sportsmen from all over Italy and abroad. The slopes of Mount Pora too, which dominate the city centre of Malga Alta di Pora, are a traditional tourist mecca for the lovers of skiing and mountain holidays.
Apart from skiing, tourists will have the opportunity to undertake plenty of further activities, such as the visit of the beautiful sanctuary of Lantana, which is approached through an unsurfaced road which attracts large numbers of excursionists and cyclists, Rusio, a lovely village gathering ancient traditional houses, and the so-called Salto degli Sposi, an impressive rock spur overlooking a deep precipice.
Walking down the footpaths of Valle dei Mulini, the area which flanks the stream which was once lined with ancient mills, it is possible to reach the Museum of the Mill. The top floor of this sixteenth-century building now hosts a restaurant, while the basements have recently been turned into proper exhibition spaces gathering ancient farming tools dating back to the past century.  
The tourist offer of Castione della Presolana is complemented by climbing walls, tennis courts, ice rinks, a flying club specialized in paragliding and plenty of further attractions.
