Castel di Lama, a small municipality of the province of Ascoli Piceno, is named after an ancient XIV-century castle overlooking the stream Lama, which crosses the eastern part of the town. The municipal territory has an altitude comprised between 65 and 233 metres above sea level, while the city centre rises 201 metres above sea level. Castel di Lama is situated a very short distance from Ascoli Piceno.
