Carpegna, which is situated on the slopes of the homonymous mount, is the capital of the Montefeltro District, and gathers large numbers of tourists all year round. The whole municipal territory is covered by a thick network of footpaths, which in summer give tourists the possibility to perform funny outdoor activities while enjoying the mild climate of the surrounding area, and in winter give them the possibility to perform skiing and snowboarding.

Palazzo Carpegna, which is situated just in the heart of Piazza dei Conti, still retains its original aspect. It cherishes a well-stocked library, which contains the ancient documents of the family, and precious period furnishings. The palace is still inhabited by the descendants of the noble family.
The palace is often the venue for interesting exhibitions and trade shows. During the week of August 15, it hosts Montefeltro's Exhibition of Artistic Crafts, which gives visitors the possibility to admire typical local products and original handicrafts. Further interesting events are: Artists in Carpegna, the Annual Conference on Medicinal Plants, and the Exhibition of Hunting Trophies.
Those interested in performing exciting sports and outdoor activities will be spoilt for choice. During summer, they will have the possibility to explore enchanting footpaths, go for pleasant walks across the quiet surrounding countryside or undertake trekking across the  Natural Park of Sasso Simone e Simoncello. Tourists will also have the possibility to explore fascinating cyling itineraries, and to go for pleasant horse rides. 
Apart from cherishing outstanding historical-artistic beauties and fascinating hilly landscapes, Montefeltro is also known for its tasty food and wine products, such as the famous raw ham from Carpegna, homemade piadina, truffles, local cheeses, which are employed to prepare mouthwatering cakes, honey and game.
