Carmagnola is situated a short distance from two wonderful naturalistic areas that develop along the course of the river  Po: the special Natural Reserve of Lance di San Michele and Gerbasso Wood, the latter being a precious example of the ancient forest that once covered the Po Valley. Carmagnola is also situated a short distance from the important Abbey of St. Maria Assunta in Casanova.
