Carloforte is a highly appreciated seaside resort gathering splendid beaches of white sand, intimate coves, enchanting inlets and impressive rocky promontories, such as Capo Sandalo, that is topped by a fascinating lighthouse. The city's most beautiful beaches are Punta Nera, that is home to a sepulchral cave dating back to the first Bronze Age, and Spiaggia della Bobba, that is dominated by two impressive trachyte cliffs. Not to be missed are Caletta, Cala dello Spalmatore, Cala Fico and La Punta, that is still peppered with ancient tuna production plants.
