Capodimonte, a small municipality of the province of Viterbo, develops along a narrow strip of land that overlooks Lake Bolsena. Capodimonte is scattered with plenty of excellent restaurants that serve delicious fish specialities based on Coregone, a small trout-like fish. Not to be missed are the DOC wines of the nearby Montefiascone, such as the popular Est! Est!! Est!!!

The enchanting footpaths that lead to the top of the island are flanked by five fifteenth-century chapels that were frescoed by a great Renaissance painter belonging to the school of Benozzo Gozzoli.
