Capodimonte is situated a short distance from the fascinating resorts of Bolsena, Montefiascone, Civita di Bagnoregio and Marta, the latter being especially known for its modern bathing estbalishment. Tourists will have the possibility to undertake exciting boat excursions to the wonderful Bisentina Island, that is home to a sumptuous sixteenth-century Farnese residence and to a beautiful church dedicated to St. Giacomo and Cristoforo. The enchanting footpaths that lead to the top of the island are flanked by five fifteenth-century chapels that were frescoed by a great Renaissance painter belonging to the school of Benozzo Gozzoli.
