The small municipality of Baschi is situated in the southernmost part of Umbria, just upon the boundary with Latium. Its ancient medieval village dominates the left bank of the river Tiber and the nearby Lake Corbara. In the Middle Ages, this important Roman town was the residence of the Baschi Family, that ruled over the whole surrounding area.

The old town also hosts the sixteenth-century Church of St. Niccolò, whose interior contains a beautiful polyptych by Giovanni Di Paolo and an ancient organ.
Outside the city walls is the fascinating Sanctuary of Pasquarella, which is situated a short distance from Lake Corbara. This enchanting pilgrimage mecca is surrounded by the lush vegetation of the surrounding area.
