Idyllically set just in the heart of Alto Garda and Ledro District, Arco is a small municipality of Trentino situated few kilometres far from the northern shores of Lake Garda. Its strategic position halfway between lake and mountain, the historical and artistic beauties of the city centre and its mild climate have made Arco an appreciated holiday destination for many centuries.

Arco gathers a remarkably wide array of accommodation facilities and tourist services. The hotels of the city centre and plenty of comfortable guesthouses belonging to different categories provide hospitality a short distance from the city's major highlights. Not to be missed are intimate bed and breakfasts and holiday farms, which are situated a short distance from the main communication routes leading to the nearby snow-capped mountains and the lake.

Arco is dominated by the impressive profile of its Medieval Castle, which rises on the top of an imposing rock spur commanding the city centre. Apart from the castle, whose interior cherishes precious frescos which have recently been restored, Arco gathers further interesting buildings, such as Palazzo Marchetti and Palazzo dei Panni, the latter being the current seat of the library and of a proper exhibition space for displays and cultural events which is named after Giovanni Segantini, an acclaimed Italian artist who lived here. Among the most important sacred buildings are the fifteenth-century Sanctuary of St. Maria delle Grazie and the Collegiate Church of Assunta. Note the nearby hamlets: Prabi hosts the Romanesque church of St. Apollinare, which contains precious frescos dating back to the fourteenth century, San Martino is home to the homonymous Renaissance church and Caneve boasts the XIV-century church of St. Rocco.
Arco gathers several artificial and natural rock faces which attract the lovers of climbing, while the surrounding area is peppered with plenty of charming paths to be discovered both on foot and by mountain bike. Like the other resorts of Alto Garda, Arco attracts large numbers of sailors and windsurfers, who will have the opportunity to take advantage of targeted services and facilities, and often arranges special courses for both children and beginners.
North of Arco's city centre, a short distance from San Martino di Patone, is Patone Cave, a long tunnel which can be explored by expert speleologists or groups of tourists accompanied by skilled guides.
