Idyllically set in a privileged position overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, Latium develops across a varied territory gathering impressive mountain ranges, sweet hills, large plains and charming coastal areas. The Colosseum and the Roman Forum, two impressive works of art which date back to the years of the Roman Empire, are complemented by clusters of archaeological sites, which were unearthed across the whole region during extensive excavation works. The region also cherishes representative Catholic churches, outstanding examples of sacred art, Etruscan, Roman and medieval old towns and cosy spa resorts, such as Fiuggi and Viterbo, which have been appreciated for over two thousand years.

Traditional cooking from Rome is famous all over the world; it is based on genuine local staples from the area of the so-called Castelli Romani (Roman Castles), small villages situated south of Rome which are set amongst the fertile territory of the Albani Hills.
