Fiabilandia, funfairs Riviera Romagnola, theme park Rimini

Situated halfway between Rimini and Riccione, Fiabilandia is the oldest theme park in Italy. It was built in 1965 and since then it has constantly developed through the improvement of its attractions and the creation of new ways to entertain children.

Unlike other Italian funfairs, Fiabilandia (whose name draws inspiration from the fairy-tale world) is designed to suit the needs of children only: it does not feature breathtaking attractions, but stands out for fiabilandia2.jpgits safety and the way it is able to entertain both children and their families. The park is open from April to October 31, when the tourist season ends with a funny Halloween party.

Attractions
Families that spend their holidays in Rimini or Riccione can visit Fiabilandia to enjoy a pleasant and relaxing day experiencing the services and facilities the park offers and the warm hospitality of skilled employees, who are dressed up as cartoon characters.

The park is surrounded by a lush vegetation and develops around Lake Bernardo, where different species of birds nest or winter. Fiaby Boat gives visitors the opportunity to sail around the lake.
The big Castle of Merlin the Witzard, one of the oldest attractions in Fiabilandia, catches the attention of large numbers of visitors flocking to the park. Inside the castle are funny owl-shaped cars which lead visitors across the mysterious lab of Merlin the Witzard.

The theme area dedicated to the old west is the largest and best-equipped in the park and can be reached through Fiabilandia Express, a train which runs across the whole park departing from its entrance. Here are the Apache and Navaho Villages, Fort Laramie stronghold and the fast Gold Mine rollercoaster.

After the exploration of this area, it is possible to rest in the Saloon of the Old West, which gathers theme refreshment booths and shows. The park has recently been provided with some exciting water attractions, the ideal solution to alleviate the suffocating summer heat. Note Captain Nemo Adventure: on board special submarines equipped with water guns, players will engage in a brave “spray battle” which involves spectators too.

Peter Pan Bay is an exciting path which leads to a mysterious skull-shaped island from which it is possible to sight Captain Hook's ship, as well as other characters belonging to this lovely fairy tale. People who decide to visit Fiabilandia in summer can experience the so-called sea offiabilandia.jpg frogs, a wonderful swimming pool equipped with rocks, waterfalls and fountains and surrounded by beach mattresses to welcome parents.
After a regenerating break spent swimming, it is possible to enjoy the Funi fun ropes or the Giant Chute.

Shows
Fiabilandia offers visitors a wide variety of attractions ranging from magic shows and story tellers to the three-dimensional cinema of Ricciovisione, an enormous yellow hedgehog where fantastic adventures are projected and educational exhibitions arranged.

Not to be missed are the Exotarium, where the natural habitat of snakes, iguanas, spiders, scorpions and piranhas is recreated and provided with interesting details, the relaxing and scented Path of the sweet-smelling plants and the Exhibition dedicated to the origins of man, which goes over the essential stages of the history of creation.

Fiabilandia is open from March to September. To display updated timetables and rates, visit the official website.
