The Italian Peninsula is characterized by a temperate climate featuring temperatures which do not exceed 40 degrees in summer and do not drop under 15 degrees in winter.

The long extension of the peninsula from North to South results in the formation of three climate zones.

In the North the climate is harsh in winter, featuring snowfalls from December to February.
In summer, temperatures are rather high and affected by a considerable humidity rate.

The climate in Central Italy is mitigated by the presence of the sea and is characterized by cold winters and very hot summers.

In the South the climate is mostly dry, featuring poor falls and dry spells.
